Out-of-the-box WCM content

Hi all,

I've installed the WCM - the Web Projects and Web Forms spaces are available.  But neither of the spaces has any content.  Is this correct?

Looking in the extras/wcm directory, it does look like there is some default content that should be setup.

Thanks,
Gareth

Hi

It sounds like you need to work through the WCM evaluation guide, which can be found here:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/New_Web_Content_Management_Plan#Getting_Started

If you're serious about getting up to speed with WCM quickly, we'd also highly recommend one of our training courses!

Thanks,
Mike

I have looked at the WCM eval guide and this starts post installation and does not describe the initial state of the two additional spaces.

I was hoping to get a more direct answer such as:

"It's correct, the two new spaces should both be empty."

-or-

"The Web Projects space should contain A, B and C.  The Content Forms space should contain X, Y and Z."

I'm just trying to work out if the install was successful.  I suggest Alfresco update the README_wcm.txt to provide additional info describing what each of the new spaces should (or should not) contain.

If anyone can provide a clear answer, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gareth

Hi

You were correct first time…

"It's correct, the two new spaces should both be empty."

The WCM eval guide does in fact mention "the empty Web Forms space" and "the empty Web Projects space" which is why I had assumed you weren't familiar with it.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the clarification.

Have to admit, I only skim-read the WCM eval guide. 🙂
