Hi, I want to use one pdf document in several spaces. For instance I have sp1 where I load document1 in as content and I have in sp2 a content which should link to the same document1. One solution could me loading the same doc again which means unnecessary waste of space or creating a link withing this content to document1. How can I do this?

Thanks in advance
Andreas

You can coppy the pdf from space 1 and "paste it as link" in sp2. This is integrated in Alfresco( You must use the webclient)

Hi Andreas

Once you copied a document, you've find the virtual document in the clipboard(the left component). There are several icons and the one of the right is "paste as a link"

(If you're using alfresco 2.0 or 2.1 you need to swith the left component to the shelf, default it is the navigator)

Hope this helps…

friendly regards,
Nick

Hello Nick,

excellent I simply did not see it. However there is another question how can I change the name as I only see Link to followed by the document name. I would like to give it an individual name other than the document name.

Thanks for your help and greetings form the Black Forest

Go to the details of the link and there you can change the properties in the properties window

This is what I already tried to no avail. None of the properties can be changed

Normally it should work…

Click on the icon in the right of that property window

The details windows doesn't allow any changes at all. I am currently a bit surprised that changing the name is this difficult. We are testing this cms for a customer and as long as this issue is not solved is he unwilling to continue evaluating it.

I expected something like clicking on a button or command called rename. Are you sure we are talking about the same?

Hi,

When you go into "View Details" for your link, you should now see the Details, Links, Properties and Actions available for that link…

Do you then see an icon in the top-right of the Properties box? Near the Actions box if you've got a default layout, it should have a "Modify" tool tip and look like a document with an overlaid pencil.

Clicking that icon navigates to the "Link Properties" dialog, where the "File Name" can be changed –which is what I think you're trying to do?

Does that help?
