Offload renditions to a different JVM

Is it possible to offload rendition creation to a different server/cluster? We have a requirement to generate renditions on the fly at lightning speed. I would like to offload it so I can scale it independently.

Anyone ran into similar situation where you have to run create tons and tons of renditions?

Hello,

the Enterprise Edition has an addon / module for this that can be licensed at extra cost: the Alfresco Transformation Server.
I don't know about "lightning speed" though, because using offloaded transformation requires content to be transfered and that alone can add some serious overhead depending on the infrastructure setup. It helps to scale the capacity to create many renditions / transformations in parallel without impacting the main Alfresco Repository service.
