Why does a preview of and .odt document in certain form fields(Text Box, Formatted Field, Number Field).
show text in the field always starting with bÿ (b and y with 2 dots).
This happens also if there is no inputin the field(it is empty),
bÿ never actualy appears in the document itself.

Issue could be with your browser "UTF-8" support. are you able to see similar characters on other sites in same browser?
Other possible cause is db "UTF-8" compatibility make sure about that as well.

I have tried checking the document with the preview with 3 different browsers(firefox, chrome and opera)
and the result is always the same. I have never encountered with browser these two characters on any other sites.
How can i check the db "UTF-8" compatibility(I use external mysql, db referers to the database?)
I have never encountered any problems with special characters in alfresco so far.

As far as I have checked my db has UTF8 set correctly.
I also found that some of the special characters for my language don't show correctly when
they apper inside a odt form, like text field in preview.
On the other hand they are shown correctly in non-forms parts of the document
and they work in Alfresco as well(I can insert them in metadata for example and they show right).
Any other ideas?

I have tried to do conversion outside of alfresco on my debian.
I have found that the problem occurs when exporting the odt to pdf.
If I export the odt to pdf(in libreoffice) and don't select
the option create pdf form, then when converting the new pdf to
swf I get swf without garbage characters.
If I export odt to pdf as pdf form, then the same thing happens in swf
as in alfresco preview.
So I need to write a content trasformation for this, does anybody know of a command
line tool, that would do odt2pdf conversion without createing the pdf form.
Also should this be raised as a bug?
