No options for Select Template Dropdown List

Hi there,

I was trying to apply template aspect to my documents. But I am not able to see any options in that drop down list. Also in the create space wizard there is no option in the dropdown list to create template.

Can anybody just help me out, why this is happening. Why I cannot see any templates option out there.

I thought one reason could be that i had deleted the Data Dictionary folder. But then when I added all the files, even then it does not help.

Please if anybody can suggest anything, or how do we link these files internally through the xml files.

Thanks
Akshaya

If you delete the Data Dictionary, you will not have any available forms in the template type drop-down list.  To have a form available in that list, you need to use the Create Form wizard which create a form object with template associations that are used by the wizard to generate output files.

The Create Website wizard will be enhanced for our GA release to also leverage a lookup to form objects in the Data Dictionary.  When a Content Manager creates a site, they will be able to select those forms that should be available for the site.  The Create New Content wizard will use this constrained list of forms associated with the website to present the drop down list instead of showing the general list of forms in the Data Dicitionary.

That said, in all cases, you need to not delete the Data Dictionary and always use the Create Form wizard to upload and register your XSDs.

Also note that we will be implementing the following changes for GA:

1.  When register a form in the Data Dictionary, will be able to associate with existing templates in your Presentation Templates space or upload a new one (which will get placed in the Presentation Templates space in the Data Dictionary)

2.  Support both XSL and Freemarker templates

3.  When create a website, will select from list of available forms in Data Dictionary those that should be available for that site

4.  When selecting a form for a website, will be able to select which presentation templates associated with the form you want to use for the website (one form can be used for more than one site, with each site using its own output template)

5.  When selecting a form for a website, will be able to associated that form and its output with a specific workflow model and specify default start task parameters

Lots of good stuff coming here.
