Hi,

I'm just installing Alfresco Comm. edition for the first time on a W2008 VM. I was wondering if there was a way to point the data location to a network share?
If so, I'd appreciate any direction / advice you might be willing to share.

Thanks,
Jason

Mike,

Thanks for the information.
I've changed the line in the .properties file to point to a mapped network drive (which contains the folder Z:\Alfresco\alf_data). The services are started, the mysql log shows that mysql is ready for connections, and I get the login page (so Tomcat is up), however I can only get the system to accept my credentials when pointed back to the original installation location.

When I point to the mapped location, I get the login prompt, but then a message that the remote server is unavailable when I enter my creds.

Any idea if I am missing a file/directory on the remote drive, or is it a credentials issue with a mapped drive? Do I need to use a UNC name\path? I can browse to the remote location with no issues from Explorer.

Thanks for your help.

Ultimately the answer was to change the account that the mysql and tomcat services used to login to something with admin creds on the win 2k8 machine.
Once this was done, I could connect my my NAS via alfresco without issue.

I have been able to recreate this issue and fix on multiple machines.
