Major Problem...Need Help

I have an alfresco installation on SUSE Linux.  I made a mistake when installing it and the data files are not saving to the proper location.  Because of this, I have run out of space on the hard drive and I am unable to log into alfresco or delete any files to make room.

How can I delete files from some of my document libraries in order to make room on the hard drive?

Any assistance will be helpful and appreciated.

Instead of deleting, why not fix the original problem. Find a volume that has enough space, move all of your files to that volume, then update the location in $TOMCAT_HOME/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties.

If you are moving the entire content store, you need to update the dir.root property. If you are moving only the content store and leaving the indexes, you need to update dir.contentstore and dir.contentstore.deleted.

One consideration is to make sure that your Lucene indexes do not move to slow or network attached disk. You want to keep those local and on very fast disk.

Hope that helps,
