Link two Alfresco

Hi,

I would like to link two Alfrescos installed in different servers. The idea is the following:

- Upload scanned PDF documents via CIFS to one Alfresco.
- This Alfresco executes a transformation to reduce the PDF file size.
- This Alfresco sends the compressed file to the other Alfresco, and keeps the original file.
- The other Alfresco recieves the compressed file into an specific folder.

I think that this could be done by creating a rule, so when a document is created in the folder, Alfresco would execute a custom script that connects to the other Alfresco and sends it the file. Is this a good way to proceed? Where could I find some documentation to achieve this?

Thanks,
Jordi.

You may also like to look at using the Replication and/or Transfer Service.

Thanks for the quick response mrogers.

I've been searching documentation, and seems that the transfer service could be a good choice. I've created a folder inside the /Data Dictionary/Transfers/Transfer Targets/Default Group/ directory in Alfresco Share, and configured it to point to the other Alfresco.

I've tried uploading a document into that folder, but it seems that isn't created in the other repository. Am I doing something wrong? How could I specify the folder where the transfered document should be placed?

Thanks,
Jordi.

Go into the administration console of Share and setup a "replication job".   Your content needs to be elsewhere, just create a new folder.
