Would someone please help and point me in the right direction?!
ops:
I have tried installing the community (alfresco-community-4.0.d-installer-win-x64.exe) version and enterprise trial (alfresco-enterprise-4.0.2-installer-win-x64.exe) version on two different Windows 2008 R2 64-bit servers. For both environments I selected the "Easy" install. However, when the Share web page opens it does not show anything other then a blank, gary screen.
Am I correct to assume the above install executables is all I need to begin using Alfresco? Or is there a basic concept that I missed and we are suppose to install other Alfresco required application before installing Alfresco? Please…someone reply and point me in the correct general direction.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
the installers should be all you need to get going with a local installation. Can you provide the log output of the systems you have trouble running Alfresco on? There should be an alfresco.log and a catalina.out within the installation directories, which usually contain the necessary information for us to provide helpful hints or even a solution.
Regards
Axel

Hi Axel,
I have the Alfresco.log file, but don't see anyway for me to attach the file to this forum. I do not see a "Catalina.out" file, but I do have a "Catalina.properties" file if that is the right one. Where is the Catalina.out file?
We did make some progress on the installation issue, it appears a configuration change on the server resolved the issue. Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration was granted to administrators permission group on the server. Now the Share UI is working appropriately. I hope this helps others that are new to Alfresco.
A new question: What needs to be done so client computers in our network can connect to the server and open a client Share UI?
Thanks! Mike T

Thanks Axel.
The Share UI was accessed from client computers by placing this url in internet explorer: "http://[server name]:8080/share/".
Not that you don't know. Thought I would add this little bit of information for other people that are new to Alfresco.
