Hw can i start modification of alfresco CMS

hi dis is ranjeet frm India. I am working on CMS2.0 . I have lots of problem. i downloded Alfresco enterprise version. when I try to change any thing like create user, a error comes saying "u cant change it has read me only permision". Another problem i am not able to get source code, there is only JSP file, not able to find .java file. Another thing when i try to load it in eclipse around 4000 errors come. Please help me. Its very URGENT.

As you are an Enterprise customer, you can request a login to our SVN repo, you will then be able to download the source and build it in Eclipse etc. Please contact support at alfresco.com.

for adding new features to alfresco cms 2.0 do i need the source code of it or i can add features by do changes in alfresco SDK? if i can, then where i need to put it's workspace inside alfresco folder? Kevin please clearify it.

Depends on the kind of feature, many things can be done simply with customisations, using the extension features of the repository and the web-client:

Add-ons to the system can be developed and then deployed as AMP packages - you may not need to modify the original server/web-client code at all:

i am still confused   when i do changes changes in sdk, then hw the changes will happen to cms2.0 community, and where should be the workspace of SDK?
