How to update completed Task property

Dear Gurus,

How to update a property in a completed task via WorkflowService. I'm trying to do that either in the Java code or by Workflow console and i see the following exception.

org.alfresco.service.cmr.workflow.WorkflowException: 00100155 failed to update task activiti$2135 task not found
