How to develop a project management module based on Alfresco share?

I want to develop a project management module based on Alfresco share, the module shall include the following functions:

(1) Project initation process
(2) Project Profile maintenance
(3) Project status report
(4) Project records maintenance (risk/issue/cost/…, better to integrate the "data list" into the module, but don't know how to do it)

But I am the fresh developer of alfresco, anybody please help give me some instructions / example code for a quick start?

I am using Eclipse,Tomcat7 and database postgresql,And download root source code,I don't know how can import and Run the Alfresco root file on Eclipse..Please Help me….
