Hi friends,
I'm using alfresco labs 3.0 stable version.
I installed this, and seen the folder named templates under Alfresco_Home/…/alfresco.
Here i'm seeing lot of webscripts like myimages, calendar, mydocuments etc.
But when i try to configure the webscript calendar in my dashboard, i'm not finding this webscript.
I think these are not activated. So please tell me how to activate these webscripts.

And i want to see the scriptlet code for "Browse Spaces" dashlet.
I want to change the name from "My Alfresco" to "dashboard" appeared in the top of the page.
Can anyone guide me on this?

Thanks in advance.,.
Regards,
Alfresco Newbie.

Hi,
I'm not sure if I get you right, but it seems to me that you mix Dashlets used in My Alfresco in Alfresco Explorer with Dashlets displayed in user- & site-dashboards in Alfresco Share.
These are two different topics.

Thanks jan for ur reply.
But what my problem is i have seen some dashlets (extension with.ftl in the directory C:\Alfresco\tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\templates\webscripts\org\alfresco\calendar like  calendarEvents.get.json.ftl, calendarEvents.get.desc, SaveCalendarEvent.get.desc, and wiki, blogs, sites ). Now i want to configure these dashlets like calendar, wiki, blog in my Alfresco's dashboard. How can i do that?
Do i need to develope them separately or i just need to use these dashlets which are already available.

thanks for ur reply.

Hi,
which my Alfresco dashboard do you mean?
http://lcoalhost:8080/share/page/<user>/dashboard ("new" Alfresco Share Client)
or http://localhost:8080/alfresco  ("old" Alfresco Exlplorer)?
Cheers, jan

Hi JP,
I'm talking about the http://localhost:8080/alfresco's dashboard.
I'm using Alfresco labs 3.0 stable version. And i don't think that this is old.
And one more doubt about share. The Share is not providing the all features which provides by alfresco explorer eg, rules, workflows, Administration Management tool etc.
And to upload a file in share we need to create a "site", I don't know what it is. when i'm trying to give a url while creating the site in share like http://192.15.25.24:8080/alfresco or http://www.google.com or http://www.google.com. it is not accepting these urls (the submit button is not enabled).
Still i'm getting the confusion on these two. which one to use either alfresco explorer or share? And alfresco explorer is not having all the features which share having like site events, calendar etc. Ans if i want to use share's dashboard in alfresco explorer (i.e i want to give a link to share in explorer, when the user clicks on share it directly takes him into the share's dashboard).
I read in some articles both are two different. then how to create users and groups in share?
I have created some users in alfresco explorer and share is accepting those users how come?

My confusion question is which is suppose to be used by the end user either share or alfresco explorer? And how to link these two? what is the purpose of designing share with a several collaboration dashlets like calendar, site events, wiki etc why they don't put these in alfresco explorer's dashboard. If i want to use share alone then how to set the rules, workflows, creating users… etc

Hi Team,
Please look into this..

Share is a new application with a more modern UI (XHTML, AJAX etc.) it does not yet have all the features of the Alfresco Explorer UI, but we are adding them over time. The concept of a 'site' fits with a more context related way of thinking about content and collaborating around content in groups rather than one gigantic content store that every user sees in the same way.

The "url" part of the site name is just that, a name i.e. "mysite" - it will become part of the large UI for your Alfresco Share site once created.

The only available dashlets in Share out-of-the-box are those that appear in the Configure Dashboard screen - you cannot add ones from Alfresco Explorer application, they are different and written using different techniques and APIs. However it is easy enough to convert most of them. If you want write your own dashlets then a good place to start is to copy/paste an existing Share dashlet and modify it.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your reply.
But my question is which i suppose to supply to the end user either share or explorer?
If i give share they will miss all most all the features supported by ALfresco like space rules, tags, opensearch etc… along with Administration tool to manage the users and groups.
If i give Alfresco explorer then they will miss the collaberative tools like calendar, blogs, members dashlet along with rich UI.

So how to meet the complete usage of alfresco.
I want to give a link named like "collaberative tool" in alfresco explorer which takes to the user to share application by providing single sign on.
I'm feeling this is one of the solution to use both share and alfresco explorer, if this is the solution can you tell me how to achieve this. I'm seeng the forums there are lot of users/developers are getting confusion regarding the same (which to use).
If this question is answered lot of developer's time will be saved along with me.

Thanks again for your reply.

Going forward we'll add those features to the Share application. At the moment yes it's tricky because it's not complete. It depends on your users, but if you consider that Rules and similar are "admin" style features, then only a few people might need to use the JSF client, the rest can get on great using Share.

Cheers,

Kev

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your reply.
You are telling that most of the users are using share.
How they are creating the users in share?
