How can I copy content from one web project to another?

I'm new to alfresco and have been tasked with learning it and creating a simple implementation with several web projects. I'm currently running community edition version 3.4.d.

One of the requirements we have is to be able to promote items from one web project to another. This is required in order to support a Beta/Production environment. One web project for Beta and a second for Production. As content is considered ready for production I need to copy it from the Beta web project to the Production web project. In some areas of Alfresco there is an option to paste content from the "More Actions" menu, but that functionality does not seem to be available within the web projects. This must be something I'm simply over looking.

How can I copy content from one web project to another?

Thanks in advance for any pointers or feedback you may have.

I believe you are talking about the old AVM-based WCM solution and you are using Alfresco Explorer to manage projects under the "Web Projects" folder. If so, when you are in your sandbox, content items should have a copy icon, as shown below:

Click it, then navigate to your sandbox in the target web site.
Browse the web site so you are sitting in a folder.
Now change your sidebar from "navigator" to "shelf":

Now use either "paste all" or click the clipboard:

Be aware that the AVM-based WCM solution is something you may not want to use for a new project because it isn't actively being developed and no one has stepped forward form the community to maintain it (see announcement).

If I made the wrong assumption and you are instead using Web Quick Start, ignore everything I just said. Smiley Happy

Your assumption was correct and your copy paste walk through worked like a charm. Thank you for the quick response.

Also, thanks for the heads-up on AVM WCM. This changes my direction completely. I need to set my focus on WQS.
