Hello,

When i use an IMAP client to access Alfresco, I see a large tree of folders representing the entire Alfresco repository.
Iam only interested in the Sites folder and would like to hide the rest from the users. Subscribing in the IMAP client is not really a good option.

Is there any other option to only show the Sites folder in an IMAP client?

With kind regards,

Remco Hannink

While there is no option to "hide" folders you can control which folders to mounted via IMAP.

Details are on the wiki.    http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/The_IMAP_Subsystem#Mount_Points

Thanks Mark. Maybe it should be an enhancement for future versions.

Indeed it should.   I've already raised an issue in JIRA.   But how would you imagine your "enhancement" would work?   How would you like to specify that folders are "hidden"?

Tagging nodes to be hidden could be done through an aspect. It would be easy to stick it on nodes to be hidden.
Another possibility is to provide a list of types to be hidden. For instance we often want to hide forums in IMAP.
We could event mix both approaches by listing in the config all types and aspects that would be ignored by the IMAP server.
