I'm able to see the "Edit Online" option for documents of the appropriate types, when viewed in IE and Firefox.  However, trying to do the "Edit Online" action just results in a message about "Can't start MS Office".  I've tried it from computers with Office 2013 and Office 2010.  Same results.  Is there some extra local configuration required to allow Alfresco to start MS Office?

Do you have errors on the server side?
Is this a new installation or it worked and now it doesn't?

No errors appear in the logs.

It has never worked.

Well, it has suddenly, and magically (as I've not changed anything) started connecting.  I no longer get the error about being unable to start MS Office.  Edit online fires up MS Office now and it does seem to connect as I get a username/password box.  However, supplying my Alfresco credential (we're integrated with Active Directory via LDAP-AD) gets me an "access denied" error.  I've tried local Alfresco admin credentials and they also do not work.  Is there extra configuration I need to do for AD integration with Alfresco to extend to SharePoint/VTI?

**edit**

Now generating log entries such as:

Client CLIENT using NTLMv2 logon, not valid with passthru authentication

Looks like no good way around this at the moment.  Here's to the hope that someday AOS will be able to be included in the Community Edition!

Usually it is the browser that is blocking the online edit. In firefox look at the address bar to the left the little icon that looks like a car battery.

I was never able to get this working in the 5.0 versions, but it is working in Alfresco Community 5.1 with Office Connector 1.1.
