'Edit Online' and SharePoint broken?

Hi all,

I've just migrated from 4.0.e to 4.2.b (both Ubuntu 12.04) and have observed the following problem.

Client: Mac OS X 10.7.5 and Microsoft Word for Mac 2011

Select a .doc/x, .xls/x, .ppt/x document in a Share site, and then select Edit Online feature.
MS Word throws this error: "Access to this webserver is disabled by default because it is controlled by Basic Authentication and does not support Secure Socket Layer (SSL)."
Edit Online fails.

I'll test this on a Win7/Office2010 PC client when I get a chance.

I'm trying to find information on the URL that Share uses for this feature to see if my ports and protocol settings are correct.  I haven't seen anything in catalina.out or alfresco.log to give me a hint.

Does anyone what this problem could be?

Cheers

Hello,

I'd assume a similar setting to the registry of Windows 7 / Office 2010 is relevant for Mac-based Office as well: http://docs.alfresco.com/4.1/topic/com.alfresco.enterprise.doc/tasks/SharePoint-config-office2010.ht...

Hi Axel,

I did come across something like this for Office for Mac 2011 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2498069).

This still does not work as Word for Mac 2011 throws this error:  "You do not have permission to complete the task."  I can't find much from Microsoft on this error.
Also, this isn't an ideal solution as I would like an SSL connection.

Any ideas on the error?

Cheers
