Document In Use When Accessing from Network Drive

I currently have Alfresco 3.2 up and running.  I have configured the following authentication authentication.chain=alfrescoNtlm1:alfrescoNtlm,passthru1assthru.  I have enabled CIFS.  Now when I map a network drive and go to open any document with in my Office 2007 application I receive an error message that the document is in use and try again later.  If I go to another machine and open the same document in Office 97 it opens fine. 

Can anyone tell me why it is doing this and how I can fix it?  Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Update:  I noticed when I went to a new machine and tried to map a network drive with username and password I get you were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network.  Go into the control panel and change your computer name.  I do not have duplicate names on the network.  I am very confused at this point.
