Do I still need a separate front end?

I'm wondering whether the new features in Alfresco still warrant the use of a separate front end like Drupal or Liferay.

In my particular case, I'm looking to build a web app that won't need to have admins logging into Drupal to change content on the fly (Well, it would definitely be a plus, but it shouldn't be necessary).
