Hallo,
I working on spaces permissions problem in our Alfresco 2.1. I would like to disable the delete adn the cut commands on some spaces,  keeping the feature to "full control" the objects contained in this "protected" spaces. I tried with roles but no one fits for me. With coordinator users can handle objects but also destroy the spaces. On the other hand using collaborator role spaces are safe but users cannot, for example, cut the objects inside. I tried using custom roles but without any luck because  I coudn'f find a specific permissions handle for the spaces. Well, maybe this is not the rigth way to solve my problem. I need this feature because the users with full control sometimes make a mess cutting an entire space instead a singole object, destroing the shared data structure.

Thanks. Gianpaolo

If you mean recover deleted file by "recovery deleted items" function the answer is: yes! Unfortunately the data structure has a "Simple workflow" rules above. When a user cuts or delete the workflow became broken and IT man is urgently called to fix the problem

Well, finally I give up! Apparentely there is no (simple) way to protect spaces from cut/delete and simoultanesly allow users to cut and delete objects inside this spaces. I thanks guys helped me (also on past post: http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19077 ). I think this is an hard function to obtain because the way we are using Alfresco differs from the main philosofy of Alfresco system. For example using "collaborator" as role permission it is possible to create a space structure relly protected: the ower of the spaces has to be a different user (a coordinator role usually). Unfortunately this doesen't fit completely with my needs. I'm thinking that the way to obtain my goal is to use Advanced Workflow functions and handle a process of parallel workflow.
Anyway the users in our organization are familiar with smb folder structure, where the permission "tricks" are very easy to implement, therefore they cannot understand why in Alfresco this so hard to implement in the same way. Well… may they think the problem is the I.T. guy… and I cannot completely say that they are wrong  Smiley Very Happy
