So, my first attempt to use activiti failed.  I tried to take the 10 minute demo and change it to use an in memory processing engine configuration.  It seems that it still requires h2 db (!)

    // Create Activiti process engine
    ProcessEngine processEngine = ProcessEngineConfiguration.createStandaloneInMemProcessEngineConfiguration().buildProcessEngine();

What am I doing wrong?

ps. I would like to find user guide material for setting up from scratch (no tomcat, no spring, just plain old services and programmatic configuration).

Thanks!

Right, you always need at least the H2 driver when using the in-memory setup.
That's using an in-memory H2 database.

Thank you, that worked.

Let me be more concrete with the second part of my question…

Is there a NoSQL type solution that I can use with Activiti.  There is no h2/sql database, but rather a provider that I can manage the persistence entirely (non sql and non jpa)?

Thanks!

No there is not, sorry

Is it just a matter of having a NoSQL implementation of a TaskService and RepositoryService?  Or is it more than that?  Assuming I want a non-rdbms approach…

Thanks,
