Custom Content Types in Explorer

Hi there,

I am using Alfresco Community 3.4, and I want to add custom content types in the alfresco explorer.
I followed the guide from the wiki:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Data_Dictionary_Guide#Step_by_Step_Model_Definition

Like in the guide I added my 'exampleModel.xml' file. To register the model with the repository i want to add it to the 'extension.dictionaryBootstrap' bean in example-model-context.xml.sample. But I have no such file. Instead i added it to 'core-services-context.xml'.

Tomcat restarted fine without any problems. But there is no new content type in alfresco explorer.

Can anybody give me some hints, or a link to a working tutorial for Community edition 3.4?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers
Wolfgang

Thanks everybody, who read my post. I found a solution myself in the article 'Alfresco Developer: Working with custom content types' by Jeff Potts.

So, now I can create my custom contents. But problem ist, when I add new content, and give it the type 'whitepaper' (like in the above mentioned example) it does not add the desired aspects by itself. What I need to do is add a content rule to the space with the desired aspects. Then it works.

Is this the way it should work?

Can anybody help on this?

Thanks a lot.

Hi!
I'm having trouble with the same thing. Using also Alfresco Community. But really don't know what files I have to edit to customize the content model, as the manual I'm using mention: "custom-model-context.xml.sample" and "customModel.xml", but cannot find these files (I can see similar ones, but none of them contains for example the tag <aspects>

Did you find solution to your problem?

thanks!
