Creating users and applying roles

Hi all,
Am a newbie to alfresco. I am using alfresco enterprise edition 3.2. I have successfully installed alfresco. Now I have created 5 users such as consumer, editor, contributor, collaborator and coordinator. I have specified the HOME SPACE LOCATION as "SAMPLE" space in my company home folder.

Now Coordinator has created a content called "created_by-coord". Have invited consumer/consumer group and editor/editor group. But I cant view the content "created_by-coord" in consumer/editor space.

Please give a solution and its urgent.

Thanks and regards,
Jeya Smiley Happy

Actually I had a problem while creating users and applying roles to them. Now I have cleared that.

Thanks for your interest.

But I have another question regarding setting permissions to the custom role. ie., I've created a new role called "Custom Role" and I want this role users can view folder, view content and edit content, other than that he should not do anything. So how could I achieve that.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. My problem is not in creating custom roles and giving permissions, Once i created my custom role, the other default roles permissions is being modified. Eg: consumer space can create content after the new role is created. Since consumer can only read content and cant create contents….

I am using Alfresco 3.4.b. I am creating a custom role. I have followed the steps as in
http://www.packtpub.com/article/roles-in-alfresco and created a permission role
Writer. I then amended the webclient.properties file.

But the 'Writer' role is not appearing in alfresco GUI. In Alfresco 3.4.b
is any other file is to amended for  the role to appear in Alfresco GUI.

Thanks for any reply.

Hi,

do the following changes :

webclient.properties
#add the property in the below consumer…
Role = Role

and

You have invite options in More Options –> Manage Space Users
Here you can invite users with particular role to a space. To manage objects, navigate to details page and click on ""Manage Content Users" option.
