Configuration Lost When Server Restarts

HI,

I am a bit worried about an issue which I am facing every time the Alfresco server restarts.

On restarting the server Alfresco Application fails to come up and the error is related to listner start port 50501 already in use, related RMI Exception. So I have to remove alf_data and drop database and recreate it again. This results in application coming up but at the same time I lose all the data I have stored in Alfresco.

Can anybody suggest me some fix so, that I don't have to face this problem again.

Hi,
Are you sure the first instance of Alfresco has actually shut down when the restart takes place.  It could be that it is taking a while to shut down and you are just giving it enough time by dropping and recreating the database.  What, btw, is the mechanism that you are using to restart?
