I have setup Alfresco 3.2r2 and I try to map drives in windows 7 clients, but with no sussess. Is there anything I can do in order to make it work. What is the configuration? Is there anything that I can do in windows 7 client? Does anybody knows if there is a possibility to make cifs work from windows 7 clients? I tried with no success other solutions like netdrive, killsoft ftp drive.

Thanks

Hi karkaletsis,

does CIFS access work with XP or Vista?

Have you checked if Alfresco is maybe using this config:

cifs.tcpipSMB.port=1445
cifs.netBIOSSMB.namePort=1137
cifs.netBIOSSMB.datagramPort=1138
cifs.netBIOSSMB.sessionPort=1139

Ivan

Hi,

as I know the behavior of Windows 7 accessing a Samba server has changed in some way.
First of all the client has to have a WINS (Netbios server) server provided to query.
And maybe you also have to patch Windows 7 - take a look here http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7
They talk about samba as a domain controller, but maybe…

Please tell here if it works if you are going try this way - good luck!

Ivan

It doesn't works with this way. I am afraid that there isn't a solution for this issue in windows 7.

Hi,

that would be very hard, but I can't imagine that the alfresco developer team hasn't been preparing alfresco to get ready with Windows 7.

Until now i did not have to access alfresco / CIFS server with Windows 7, but I'll keep looking for a solution as my job/time is allowing to do this.

Ivan

i connect cifs on windows 7 in this way:
Edit with regedit this key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]

add this value:
"LmCompatibilityLevel"=dword:00000001
