Cant save dokument through MS Excel 2003.

Hi again!
I´m running Alfresco 2.1 and I have mapped my alfrescoserver with the share \\server\alfresco to X:\.
I start my Excel with a new dokument and I want to save as but I get error-message "The file Book1.xls already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file?"
I choose yes and I get a new error-message "Cannot save x:\Book.xls. The folder is marked as 'Read Only'". The save windows is still open.
But the file Book.xls has been save but it empty execpt some text
"The node's content is missing:
   node: workspace://SpacesStore/488610cd-6d27-11dc-9921-6bb94a1133fd
   reader: null 
   Please contact your system administrator.

If I open a existing dokument and edit then press save it´s no problem. huh?

I have tried with WORD, NOTEPAD and these work fine.

Hi

Have you got any rules on the space you're trying to save to? Excel saves files in a slightly odd way, which maybe causing rules to fire when you don't expect.

Does this happen in all spaces you've got permissions to save to?

Does it happen if you map the drive as the admin user?

Hi!

I have no rules at all and it doesn´t matter on which space.
I logged in as admin user.

One other thing, when I save a excel it take about 30 sec to save, even when its a small document.

I've just tried the same scenario with a mapped X:\ drive and v2.1 is working as expected.

Are there any messages in the Alfresco log file?

When you access the X:\ drive from Explorer (e.g. Start/Run X:\) is there a prompt for a username, or any sort of delay?

Hi Mike!

I use v2.1 with mysql and have about 60GB of data.

I have authentication thru NTLM so I don´t get any prompt for username or password.

No, I don´t get any direct messages on my log when I try to save the excel file.

Those empty files are probably the failed Excel saves.

Are you using 2.1 Community Final? You could try registering for v2.1 Enterprise and seeing if that fixes the problem, or try 2.2dev from the nightly builds. If possible, install these separately from your main server for testing.
