Can I copy Alfresco for Restoring?

I want to know if I can copy Alfresco for later restoration.  If so, how?..I essentially want to take a snapshot of a safe install so that I have something to revert back to when future tests on my part fail?

when I say copy, I don't mean copying just it's data or it content files.  I mean copy the whole Alfresco instance.

I imagine that this could be a tedious process…

I'm on Alfresco 3Labs | Linux

It's fairly easy to copy and restore an alfresco instance.     A simple file copy will work.

You should also back up your database and file store.

Specifically what directories would I copy?  Is everything concerning Alfresco in the default installation directory (/opt/alfresco)?   Do I just copy everything in the /opt/alfresco directory and save it as my backup?

Or install Alfresco and its database on virtual machines. Use the snapshot functionality of the virtual machines to completely restore snapshots. This is nothing specific to Alfresco, it restores complete systems.
