bulk importing of particular files with metadata

Hi All,

I am relatively new to Alfresco. I have some requirement.
The requirement is to do bulk offline upload with the custom metadata related to the files.

There is an approach of creating the shadow metadata files and place it in the same folder from where the bulk importing needs to be done.

In case all the documents are not imported and there is a failure how it can be validated. If someone has followed the approach before it will be quite helpful. If there is any java code example for this it will be useful.

here you can find a more sophisticated version of the Alfresco bulk importer https://code.google.com/p/alfresco-bulk-filesystem-import/
It gives you more features compared to the original one.
If you need enhancements to the tool you can ask for them joining the mailing list.
