assigning users to group

I have successfully integrated LDAp and alfresco.
Now I want to fetch alfresco user group from ldap i.e at the time of user creation i will save user's alfresco user group information in the ldap against each user and so that when user logs in to alfresco using his credentials his user group will be fetched along with his other information.

This can be done if you create your users through LDAP synchronisation.
I'm not sure it can be done if you just use it for login, creating groups at login time though.

Actually i am creating users from some other application in ldap and when the users are created i want to save their user group along with their credential,I am accessing alfresco using web-service api.
I am not creating these users from alfresco.users are created from some other application and these users are required to access alfresco.

The requirement is like whenever an user register to application they will get access to alfresco explorer and they must belong to some user group.so application need to assign their user group at the time of registration only.
