Hi.

Alfresco 4.0.C seems to include some concept of "Create Content By Templated Node" from the toolbar. Is this concept documented anywhere? Or could anyone provide me with pointers on how it works?

My use case is to list my custom content types here so they easily can be created by the editorial team.

Thanks for any help.

Just to answer my own question.

Templated nodes are created in Data Dictionary / Node templates. The node has to be a subtype of cm:content. The Create Content : By templated node menu is then populated with the nodes that are defined in the Node Templates Data dir. On creation a copy is made of the Node Template and put in the folder your currently working in.

Where can I find a sample of node templates.

Can I, for example, navigate to where are .xml, .html and .txt default node templates, on Alfresco install folders or datadictionnary?

Thank you!

After stumbling on that feature and a google search lead to this thread, I found <a href="https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-12987">this JIRA ticket noting the lack of documentation</a>, which lead to <a href="http://aegif-labo.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/templated-nodes-in-alfresco-4.html">this blog post by aegif-labo</a> explaining the process in a very straightforward manner.

It appears the JIRA ticket was closed related to, maybe, insufficient information.

I've created a new ticket, please add your own input, or vote, if this is a desired feature.
