A Global auditing/reporting mechanism for administrator

hello,
The present mechanism of auditing in alfresco requires one to view using show_audit.ftl.

My requirement is a global mechanism where in an administrator can audit/monitor all the activities at the end of the day, without moving to a particular space/content.

I am not even sure if this is achievable or not.
Please help!
I'm new to ALfresco, any kind of help is welcome.

show_audit.ftl is just the one way to show the audit trails.
In fact when you enable auditing and configure it to audit the selective operations It will audit all information in the db.
Now it is your choice how you want to show this information.

Thanks Mits!
That was a very quick response..
But as far as I know I havn't configured any database with my alfresco instance.
I may sound novice to you, but could you please explain it to me a little more?
An example or something?
I am also reading the basics from alfresco wiki.

Francesco, Thanks for your input. I'll surely have a look and see if it works for me.

You just need to configure the auditing though the xml files which are lying under
<tomcat_home>\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\audit

Alfresco will take care of creating new audit related tables and populate them.
You just need to select what are the things which you want to be audited.

Now all your audit information is stored in the audit tables you can use them in whatever way you like.
