I have installed Alfesco 4.2.e comm on windows.  It all went fine, except for at the very end, (like after the server start up message) I am getting this WARN:

Unable to fetch model changes from /alfresco/service/api/solr/modelsdiff

the complete log bit looks like this:

2013-11-08 20:02:54,833  WARN  [solr.tracker.CoreTracker] [SolrTrackerScheduler_
Worker-2] Tracking communication timed out.
2013-11-08 20:02:54,833  WARN  [solr.tracker.CoreTracker] [SolrTrackerScheduler
_Worker-3] Tracking communication timed out.
2013-11-08 20:02:54,926  WARN  [scripts.solr.AlfrescoModelsDiff] [http-bio-8443
-exec-2] Unable to fetch model changes from /alfresco/service/api/solr/modelsdif

2013-11-08 20:02:54,926  WARN  [scripts.solr.AlfrescoModelsDiff] [http-bio-8443
-exec-1] Unable to fetch model changes from /alfresco/service/api/solr/modelsdif

I can log into alfresco just fine, even on port 8443.

What issue is this, and can I safely ignore it?

I'd suggest to you to review all the Solr install process, and check if all the steps needed to get it "talking" with Alfresco were correctly executed.
I'm talking about the steps where you have to configure the keystore folder and also the users you have to add to each instance of Tomcat (in the case you used a separeted Alfresco for Solr).

check file  <SOLR_TOMCAT_HOME>/conf/server.xml ,make sure Solr tomcat application servers to use the keystore and truststore correclty.

check file <SOLR_TOMCAT_HOME>/conf/tomcat-users.xml , make sure Solr tomcat application servers is configured correctly using the Alfresco server identity.

Is your search working correctly?
This issue is related to solr index sync up.

The search is working.

I don't know how to "check" the keystores.  They look fine to me, but I would not know. So I copied over the /conf directory from my old 4.2.d (Which worked fine)  into my 4.2.e install, and I got the exact same error. So I don't think it's the keystore.

Did you find a solution?  Exact same problem here.

My solution was to install 4.2.d  It does not have this problem.

Hey guys.

In my backup of the folder alf_data i restored two folders:

- keystore;
- solr.
