Word Add-In problem.

We have a strange fundamental problem with the word plugin.

We've installed Alfresco 2.1 RC to test the new features of it.
Than we've installed the Wordplugin and tested it.
It looks very nice and worked fine(also the save-in-alfresco-action).
Only 1 thing didn't work and that was the pdfconverter, but that was logical, because openoffice wasn't installed yet. So we've installed openoffice2.2. Tried again and the pdfconverter worked. So it looked okay.
But suddenly we can't save any wordfiles anymore from the wordplugin(in the webclient, webdav,CIFS it still workes). It always gives an error

error :

Alfresco Problem
Unable to save the document to Alfresco: This is not a valid name.
Try one or more of the following:
*Check the path to make sure it was typed correctly.
*Select a file from the list of files and folders.

We've uninstalled that openoffice version –> still the same error
We've uninstalled whole alfresco –> still the same error
We've uninstalled the plugin –> still the same error

Anyone facing similar problems?
Anyone know the cause of this?

I've also think a uninstall of the plugin isn't a whole uninstall, because when I install it again,it still fill automatically in the configuration fields.

p.s. another issue: I've installed the plugin with the admin account and tested it with that account. If I login with another account, It don't show the alfrescoplugin, It seems it only installs to the word of the installuser.

friendly regards
Nick

I have exactly the same issue. Haven't spent any time troubleshooting yet though. Never ever did have it working, though.

Hi,

There were some issues regarding saving in the RC1 version of the Word Add-In (specifically path handling). These have all been addressed for the 2.1 Final, released in the near future.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi,

Not much information to go on there I'm afraid.

Can you access CIFS using Windows Start/Run? Can you load and save documents in Word via CIFS using Word's own Open & Save menus?
