This is an old thread but closest to my questions.
Can I use the Community Edition of Alfresco for a SaaS offering?
Can I make changes to the Community Edition of Alfresco and offer it as SaaS without Open Sourcing my changes? Here, I am not distributing the software but providing service.
I am looking at the possibility of developing a software for a specific industry based upon Alfresco and only to offer the thus, developed software as SaaS.
Appreciate any inputs on this.
Thanks in advance,
Zavc.

You are free to run your SaaS buisness as long as you respect the terms of the GPL. So what you are proposing should be fine. Thanks, mrogers! Yes, I agree! I will do so once I get through the 1st-level i.e. once I finish developing the product, which could take 2-3 months tentatively.
Please contact Alfresco support if you want to discuss your options further. At some point your buisness may become successful and you may want to consider alfresco support.
