I am already looking at using alfresco for document and records management.

Our company currently has a pretty static intranet site.  In order for departments to participate in contributing content I am looking at using the WCM component.  I want to make it easy for departments to get content out to the new intranet.  I would also like to use portal technology to customize the various departments’ view of the company intranet site.

Which combination would be best to achieve this?
Is there a combination that the alfresco team spending time testing i.e. a preferred platform combination?

Thanks

This June, we will be releasing our new web script infrastructure and set of AJAX-enabled (read: snazzy and usable) portlets for DM and WCM.  These will be tested and certified with both JBoss and Liferay.

I'd recommend evaling base Alfresco content services, including our XForms support, staging, and deployment support, and then adding an eval of our upcoming 2.1 portlets when we release in a new Community build in a few weeks time.
