Navigator does not get updated when new spaces

When creating a new space, the navigator does no get updated automatically (has to be done manually).

Also, the same ordering criteria (e.g. alphabetic) should be used in both the navigator and the main panel.

Correct, the navigator does have to be updated manually, unfortunately, that's a limitation of the navigator for this release.

You're also right about the ordering of nodes in the tree, i have raised this is JIRA: http://issues.alfresco.com/browse/AWC-1089

I am having issue with Navigator not updating as expected.

Can someone point me to doc which details how it is expected to behave ?

I have added spaces and sub-spaces below it like a project tree. Some nodes of this tree(sub-spaces) do not show up at all.

I have tried manual updating, logging back in etc.

You should see all spaces after a manual refresh or logging out/in, unless you don't have permission to them for some reason.

You can turn on debugging to see if the spaces are being returned back to the client, if they are this would indicate a problem with the client side processing.

To do this add to the log4j.properties file

log4j.logger.org.alfresco.web.bean.ajax.NavigatorPluginBean=debug‍
