Is it possible to share document with default space?

Hi

I'm new to Alfresco and wanted to create a site whose document library is 'linked' to a default space

e.g. the existing default space in Company Home has a space named MARKETING and I would like to create an Alfresco share in which when clicking on the Document Library in the Alfresco share site links directly to the Company Home space MARKETING. This will allow the Alfresco share site to have the same documents from the main company space, instead of having duplicate documents related to the same subject.

Is this possible?

Thanks for your assistance

I don't think it is but don't take my word for it.

I know there is a way to create a shortcut in alfresco, but  if i remember, the shortcut function is more like a copy, or maybe it was a shortcut to that specific version.  Or updates didn't work as one would expect? Though, its been several versions since i  looked at it.

maybe you could create a folder level shortcut?

in any case if you use a short cut properly vet it to make sure it isnt bugging out.

the other big issue with this could be permissions.  Share and Alfresco use different permission types, as a result this could confuse users resulting in a.) not providing enough access b.) creating a databreach situation where someone "thought" they removed someones access but still had access from one side or the other.  or c.) alfresco or share could choke on it

If i were you i would create a "Marketing" site, move the contents of the Marketing folder in company home to companyhome–>sites–>marketing–>documentLibrary (or something similar) which should be where back end of the site is.  then tell the users to get use to it.

maybe a synchronization script would work? though there would still be two copies and it would be easy to get an infinite regress issue. As well, the permission issues could exist too
