'Invite outside users' not working in Labs 3

I am unable to invite members to sites I've created in Share. I don't see any way to configure the Web client for sending e-mail, other than changing the "from" address. When I try and "invite outside users" nothing happens. The invite is reported as successful, but then there is nothing in the "Sent Invites" page.

Do I need to configure anything else in Share to get this feature working, or is it "broken" as this is only a Preview?

I have checked, and I've modified the custom-repository.properties file but I still get errors in the logs when Share tries to send invitations.

I've tried using my ISP's SMTP server, my .Mac SMTP server, and my company's SMTP server…all with no success.

Simple question then…do I need to set up my own PostFix/Dovecot (or whatever) mail server on the Alfresco host machine in order for the outgoing e-mail to work?

There is not a whole lot of information in the forums or Wikis about how to set this service up…

Pardon my lack of knowledge…but how would I do this?

OK…got it working. Trick was to use an SMTP server that didn't require authentication.
