Hello, is that possible to provide read-only access for Guest/Anonymous User to Public Site?

I tried but not successful, what I did:

1. I created a public site (public is checked) .
2. Can't access it as Guest (failed) .

Tried another way
1. Go to Admin Panel
2. Can't add Guest (it seems to be predefined user) to Group
But it's not an bug, I still can add another users, admin for example.

So, is that possible to make site public? And how?

Thanks!

Am I missing something, or asking a trivial question? Smiley Happy
Or 'sharing content with anonymous users' is so rarely case that nobody doesn't need it?

I assume that you've got:

alfresco.authentication.allowGuestLogin=false

at your tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties file.

This is probably the reason you can't use guest.
BTW. IMHO there is no need to literally add GUEST account. When allowGuestLogin will be enabled then you will not see login screen entering the site but you will get logged in by default as guest.

Thanks for reply.
I added but it doesn't help. The result is the same, I can't access Public Site as Guest, it prompts for Login.

I found that - Alfresco Share doesn't support Guest Access (http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=17874).

Really strange, it's a most trivial and basic feature, especially for solution that has 'share' in it's name and marketed as alternative to Sharepoint (that does support Guest).

Indeed. Thanks for pointing this out.

Unfortunately, it's not in the least bit "trivial" or else we would have added it already

We are aware it's a feature people want, but feel free to raise a JIRA request so others can vote for it.

Thanks,
Mike
