Document Library permissions

Easy question: is it possible to customize the permissions of the root folder in the Document Library?

I have created folders "Draft" which anyone can write to, and "Approved" which I have overridden the permissions on so it's restricted to managers, and to keep everything clean I would like to also restrict the root folder so it only ever contains these folders. But the root folder never appears in a folder list, so I don't see how I get to the "Customize Permissions" form…?

Or should I just accept that people are going to put their drafts in the root folder  Smiley Happy

No, you can't currently do this. The easiest way would be to update the permissions using the Explorer web client - follow the pattern for the Drafts and Approved folders.

Remember your users will still need read permissions!

Thanks,
Mike

Yes - for the approved folder anyway - I'm planning to prevent "other users" from reading the drafts so they don't show up in searches unless you've explicitly joined the site as consumers.
