Disabling Alfresco Features

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Alfresco and would like to use it for document management, file sharing and possibly records management. How can I disable other functionality such as sites and tasks. I am more interested in the document management and sharing functionality of Alfresco. I don't want my users to be confused with other functionality.

I had to do a lot of that. I changed permissions on actions in places like documentlist.get.config.xml and /toolbar.get.config.xml etc.

Made template modifications to allow only admin to create new sites in components/header/header.get.html.ftl and components/dashlets/my-sites.get.html.ftl

The above is a small subset of what it took to tame share into conforming to enterprise type project requirements.

It's all possible albeit more difficult then it should be. Still… much easier then building your own portal.
