if text contains special characters like{ ,:,] , no results

Hi,if text contains special characters like ( , ) ,[ , ],                  { , }, :, ?, <, >, no results are coming in search. tried with ISO9075.encode also but no luck.is there any alternate approach to get the results.Thanks,Siva.
