Alfresco WCM preview not working

Hi,

Version : Alfresco Community 3.3

We are not able to make the Alfresco WCM preview feature working on the virtual server. We have tried nearly every suggestion available from the forums.

So basic question is does the machine which is running the Alfresco server need to be an internet facing machine with a real IP ? Our server is within the firewall of the organization  is not internet facing and does not have a real IP address. Can that be an issue ?

Also is the preview feature required to be working for using the Alfresco Web Editor(AWE) ?

Yes your machine address and your namesrver be a crucial issue.

I don't think there is any connction between the VS and AWE.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion.
Now, when i am clicking on Preview Website, below URL is invoked

http://alfrescosample.www--sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/ - its giving error as Connection refused.

If we are replacing IP(127-0-0-1) with our local machine IP(192-168-148-133) in URL as mentioned below, then alfresco website is opening.

http://alfrescosample.www--sandbox.192-168-148-133.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/

We have made IP changes in alfresco-virtserver.properties file.
Entered 192.168.148.133      alfrescosample.www–sandbox.192.168.148.133.ip.alfrescodemo.net in hosts file.

Still the correct IP is not being invoked by the URL.
Any solution for this?????

What have you put into your hosts file?   From your posting above does not look correct.

Hi,

I have put below content in host file:-

192.168.148.133      alfrescosample.www–sandbox.192.168.148.133.ip.alfrescodemo.net

If above is wrong, please help to correct and send us.

127.0.0.1      admin.news.www–sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net

I have this in my hosts file and preview works.
