Alfresco Share 3.2 NTLM SSO fails

So, i have configured Alfresco proper to use NTLM SSO against a windows 2k3 R2 Active directory server.  everything is working well. 

I followed the instructions here http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_Authentication_Subsystems
but when i tried to switch Share over to use SSO against passthru/ntlm authentication, Everything caught on fire. 

I have tried both firefox 3.5 and IE8 and in IE8 have set it for both trusted and untrusted the server so it will prompt for basic and try to sso.  when it prompts for basic auth, i have also tried explicitly specifying the domain and only using a username

This is alfresco 3.2 running on windows 2k3 R2 using the full windows installer and an xp sp3 client

I have this exact same issue.  I'm using passthru with NTLM based SSO.  Did you notice how it authenticates the user successfully, then switches to guest, then errors out because guest isn't allowed? 

/alfresco interface SSO is working fine.  If I roll back the Share SSO customizations, manual authentication works.

Yeah, i saw that.  I wonder what it would do if guest access was allowed to the system?  I wish it would say which script it is (or if i could find /alfresco/wcs/webframework/content/metadata )

the mobile.war system seems to be giving the same error but i think its chained into Share.  So, one problem at a time

Just out of curiosity, how did you set up NTLM?  I set it up as passthru

It generated a bunch of error in the alfresco.log (see below) that I think correspond to every time someone logs in.  The errors seem to be in pairs.  I changed the settings in the subsystems to not enable SSO login and I still got the errors, but I could login.  I wonder if the issues is not so much with SSO as it is with passthru (assuming that is what you are using.)

I've got uselocalserver to false because i'm listing the servers (with various combinations of domains and servers). 


I'm also getting tons of errors about logins and authentication, even when logins are working.

I'm afraid this is a known issue with the 3.2 Community release.

Just to summarise, there are problems enabling NTLM SSO for the share app. The alfresco app should be OK.

I expect to investigate and update this forum in the near future.

I saw that in JIRA and was afraid it was the same issue.  I'm already watching that one.  If I can provide any information about my configuration to help troubleshoot, let me know.

Any ideas when we can expect this 'major' bug, as its been prioritised in the JIRA, will be resolved?

I have raised the priority of the bug. It will be fixed during the current 3.2 bug fixing phase, i will post the diff if possible once it is fixed.
