I am trying to run the embedded Alfresco repository 2.0 as a backend to my JBoss 4.0.5 app.  I've been trying to integrate with JBoss's JTA container and have had some luck.

My datasource is an Oracle9 db and I startup my repo from an MBean.  I followed some of the instructions from the v 1.3 High Availability at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/High_Availability_Configuration_V1.3 and I have configured hibernate-context.xml like this:

I know that it's correctly looking up the TransactionManager, because when I misspell it, it gives me a NameNotFoundException.

The problem seems to be when I clean out the repo and start fresh, it attempts to import the bootstrap stuff and I get these errors:

I think the first error causes the second one.  After tracing, it seems like the transaction flush tries to write to ALF_TRANSACTON, and the FK  expects that the ALF_SERVER table has a referenced record in it - but it doesn't in my DB.

If I create my repo WITHOUT the JTA integration stuff - that is, with the default hibernate-config.xml - and then re-startup the repo WITH the JTA transaction stuff, I do NOT get the same error, which leads me to believe that this is indeed happening in the initial repo data import.

Perhaps my hibernate-config.xml isn't right because I followed the 1.3 instructions?  I couldn't find any other docs on JTA integration.

This was because I was left the datasource configured in core-services-context.xml uncommented.  To fix, I used the hibernate.connection.datasource property to point to a jca datasource and commented out the datasource in core-services-context.xml
