I am very interested to make this combination work. But I read on a post
in the following link http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=5225
that it is not possible to make them work together unless you use something
called AD controller. The problem is that this link is empty.
Any idea? What can I do?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
That means you need active directory or something else that supports (NTLM authentication or Kerboeros) and LDAP.

Ok, in my organisation we are using CIFS + OpenLDAP, so as openldap is kind of active directory it should work. Do you think is possible to run
this schema of work under alfresco 2.0?
If the response is affirmative please let me know where can I found some
information about this topic.

Hi
As far as I know, the only way to get openldap working standa alone with CIFS is to do a bit of code. Store MD4 hashed and fix up the LDAP auth to be able to get these - this is way down my list of things to do.
Or you can try configuring OpenLDAP and Alfresco to use Samba - which I have not had time to try 🙂
