add property in a template

Hello there

I have a question.

I have a template, that constructs some folders. What i would like to do is to add some properties to that folder. I know that there are some properties such as "cm:name" which indicates the name of the folder, and also the description, and there is another that shows the icon. But i would like to add another that i have defined as an aspect, such as the the state of the folder. A custom aspect, but i want it to be by default included in the template.

Is it possible to do so? And if yes, how can i do it? Because i have tried with no success.

The Create From Template space creation function performs a full copy of the folder structure you have created as the template. So you can modify that folder structure as you see fit - including adding custom aspects and properties - they will all be copied to the new structure when you create via that template.

I understand the next:
i have to modify the new folder structure in the alfresco directory, which is in Data Dictionary / Space Templates and then execute advanced space wizard using the new template generated and modified with the custom aspects.

We have tried like that, but it doesn't work perfect. the content of the aspect is the original one, not the one that we have changed.

Otherwise… doing it like that is too complicated!

Perhaps i did not explain myself.
What we want to do is: in the original template (but not the original of alfresco, but the one we have done), add the aspect there with a default value. How can we add this?

I'm not sure what is not working here - you say you have modified the template in DataDictionary/SpaceTemplates and that new the space based on that folder does have the aspects/properties that you have added to the template? If so that is working correctly? So what is not working…?

Ok. i will explain step by step what i have done:

1 - i go to Data Dictionary/Space Models, and there, i created i rule which is add a new aspect, add a date, initial date and close date.

2 - then i create a new space, with two folders inside. I go to one folder, and i modify the date, in the details is shown correctly.

3 - I go to the company Home, and there i create an advanced space wizard from a template, and i use the one created in step1.

4 - When the new space is created, i go and look at the details of the folders insite this space and i realize that the date is not the one modified in the template.

What it works is that the new aspect added in the template, is ok. But what is not ok is the modification i made.

How can i do to have this modification in the spaces generated in the company home?
