Log on as administrator. Go to Admin Center, click on Monitoring. The status flag on the line showing Nuxeo Instance should read Inactive (grey color). Click in Edit status, the drop down menu for Status will be pre-set to "Active", so just click Save and the status for Nuxeo Instance will now read Active (green color). You are no longer in Maintenance mode.

At log-on I get the message:

"Maintenance mode is active
Only administrators are authorized to log-on"

Where can I unset the maintenance mode?
