path widget in document type

Hello, I am using "path" widget to select a path of a file from the workspace tree for a text field in my document type. When I create a new document based on the document type and click the "Add" button of the "path" widget for my field I am presented with the popup saying "Click an item to select it". I am able to browse the tree till I reached the leaf folder but after that I am not able to see or select any files beneath that folder. Even I am not able to select that leaf folder itself. I have to close the popup.

Is there any way to populate a field with file path by browsing the domain or workspace tree ?
