Hi,

I couldn't reproduce the issue but the generic download URL relies on Amazon CloudFront: maybe there's an issue in your location. That direct link will work.

The IP address is gotten through DHCP, if it's not reachable from your host you probably need to play with the VMWare options for the network interface.
